Today I visited one of my favorite places in Singapore, @leparksg, for probably the last time. I came to try their Milo Dino soft serve which I didn’t know existed… even though I had been here many times! Milo is a chocolate malt drink that’s very popular in Singapore, especially for kids, but also enjoyed by adults alike. You can find drink mixes made from of milo here, called Milo Dinosaur and Milo Godzilla, which mixes milo with condensed milk and adds undissolved milo powder on top. The latter adds ice cream in addition to the Milo Dinosaur. Lepark’s take on it is to serve the milo-flavored ice cream with items that reminds you of childhood in Singapore (or most of south east asia for that matter) – such as khong guan biscuit, rainbow sprinkles and honey star cereal. Lepark is a play on the malay word “lepak” which means “to relax”. I loved this place because it’s an unexpected twist to the otherwise traditional People’s Park Complex. To get to there, you have to take a dingy lift and then climb a few sets of stairs up to the roof top. When I brought my boyfriend here for the first time, we took an extra shady route using the cargo lift and dark creepy carpark stairs. He told me that if he didn’t know me he would have turned around and ran. 😂 But we ended up loving this place so much that it became almost a routine to come here for a little after-work beer or weekend chill. Unfortunately the carpark is being sold and Lepark has been forced to close their doors at the end of this week. Thank you for all the fond memories, @leparksg. I’ll always remember this space. #ShotoniPhone8plus #singapore #chinatown #milo #milodinosaur #milodino #icecream #🍦

Ahhh Hong Kong Egg Waffle, we meet again… this time in Hongdae of #Seoul! long time followers of @girleatworld would know that I’m a huge fan of the egg waffle. I’ve featured it many times in Hong Kong, both in its traditional form and modern takes of it. This one from a stall in Hongdae is a pretty spectacular twist to the traditional snack. It came with an ice cream, two sticks of pepero, a rainbow marshmallow, cheerios and a drizzle of strawberry syrup. I love seeing traditional desserts get a face lift! #hongdae #eggwaffle #eggettes #icecream #creativedesserts #GirlEatSeoul #GirlEatWorld #seemorewithCTSG #KTOSingapore

🇹🇭 This is a mystery snack we found at a street market in the chinatown area of Bangkok a few months ago. It’s a thin bread topped with some sort of minced meat, then deep fried to crispiness. Served with sweet and sour chili sauce. From googling, I think it’s Thai Pork Toast (Khanom Pang Nha Moo) but I can’t be sure. If you know what this is, please comment below and let me know! . What I love most about this shot is the background itself. it perfectly captures the colorful organized chaos that is Bangkok street food scene. See the food cart behind me? Each time a car passes by (yes, cars STILL pass by despite this road being narrow and jam-packed by food carts and pedestrians), the lady manning the cart would simply push her cart diagonally to the side to let the car through. Then, once the car has expertly navigated its way out of the narrow road (a mandatory driving skill if you are to ever drive anywhere in south east asia), she would push her cart back onto the road and resume business as if she’s not in the middle of the road blocking traffic. I observed her doing this twice in the short time that we were walking down that street. Amazing! . #GirlEatBangkok #ShotOniPhone #bangkok #thailand #streetfood #girleatworld #mysteryfood

🇨🇿🍓 Trdelník with whipped cream and strawberries in Old Town Prague, Czech Republic. In the previous post, I talked about Chimney cake in Budapest. I had seen it before in Prague, in the form of Trdelník, even though the Hungarians have claimed this snack. When I visited Prague four years ago, they were sold in the same way as in Budapest. This time around, it seems that the Czech had gotten creative with it! Trdelník is now a lot more attractive and comes with different types of fillings – various ice creams, sauces like chocolate and caramel, and even whipped cream and fruits! Perfect for the summer. I love seeing how food have travelled and gets adapted around the world. This is my second time in Prague. This city is still as beautiful as I remember it four years ago! This time around I took the train out of Prague to Kutna Hora to check out the Sedlec Ossuary, a chapel decorated with real human bones. I am currently in Krakow, Poland and have been enjoying the food here. Next, I am heading to Lviv in Ukraine 🇺🇦! Please comment and recommend me your favorite Ukrainian dish or snacks!
